Applicants must meet the following requirements to be accepted into the apprenticeship program:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Provide an official (sealed) transcript for high school and post-high school education showing at least one year of a successfully completed Algebra class.
- If applicable, submit all GED records at the time of application.
- Submit a DD-214 (if applicable) at the time of application submission to verify military training.

Applicants who fulfill the specified prerequisites will be interviewed by the JATC and placed in the Pool of Eligible Applicants (POE), which is ranked and rated. Selection for entry into the apprenticeship program will be based on their final ranking within the POE.
The POE list is flexible, and your position may shift depending on the number of interviews conducted and the scores achieved by other applicants.
Applicants who are selected from the Pool of Eligible Applicants will be required to pass a drug test.
