What is a registered apprenticeship program?
A registered apprenticeship program is a proven model of apprenticeship that has been validated by the Department of Labor or State Apprenticeship Agency. Registered apprentices are a combination of on-the-job training and classroom instruction in which workers are paid to learn. Through this program, electrical apprentices follow the earn while you learn model where they learn from experienced tradespeople as they make a livable wage, while they work their way toward becoming journeymen electrical workers.
How long does an Inside Wireman apprenticeship take?
An Inside Wireman apprenticeship can be completed in five years. Each year, apprentices need to complete at least 180 classroom hours, so after five years, they will have the 900 hours needed to graduate. Over the course of the five-year apprenticeship, Inside Wireman apprentices must also complete at least 8,000 hours of on-the-job training.

If you prefer to fill out an application in-person, you must call the office at (559) 251-5174, ext.1 and schedule an appointment to fill out an application.

How are students graded?
Students are assessed in five categories and must achieve a satisfactory rating in each one in order to continue in the program without a penalty. Apprentices will be assessed in homework, personal attitude, classroom attitude, lab performance and test scores.
