Due to the fact that the City of Fresno has now lifted the Shelter In Place order, our JATC must still go through an approval process before we can officially reopen. We are hopeful that this will happen very soon, but until then ALL ACTIVITIES related to our training center will remain closed/cancelled. This includes: new applications, aptitude testing, evening classes and apprentice trainng classes. If you were scheduled for an aptitude test, we apologize for the inconvenience and will notify you via USPS once the test date has been rescheduled. Updated information will be posted here as it becomes available, so I encourage you to check back occasionally. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.
Fresno JATC staff
Welcome to the Fresno Area Electrical Training Center. We are a jointly sponsored apprenticeship program of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers(IBEW) and the National Electrical Contractors Association(NECA). Our goal is to provide the industry with craftsman that have the attitude, skills, and knowledge to be successful in the electrical trade. This is accomplished over the course of 5 years of on the job training, as well as trade related classroom instruction. Because the electrical field is constantly changing we must change with it. We offer journeyman level training to keep our workforce up to date on the latest work practices and technologies.
It is tradition that apprentices BBQ before the union meetings, which are held the second Tuesday of each month. This is a good opportunity for apprentices to get out and meet your fellow brothers/sisters. If you would like to help out be at the JATC around 5pm.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY PLEDGE
The Fresno, Madera, Kings, and Tulare Counties Electrical JATC will not discriminate against apprenticeship applicants or apprentices based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), sexual orientation, genetic information, or because they are an individual with a disability or a person 40 years old or older.
The Fresno, Madera, Kings, and Tulare Counties Electrical JATC will take affirmative action to provide equal opportunity in apprenticeship and will operate the apprenticeship program as required under Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 30, as amended.
